At the premises of the Rector's Office of the University of Zagreb there was the ceremony of signing the Agreement between the European Commission and the Faculty of Textile Technology, University of Zagreb, regarding financing FP7 project.
The Agreement was signed by the Dean of the Faculty of Textile Technology, Prof. Darko Ujevic, Ph.D. in presence of the Vice-Rectors: Prof. Bojan Baletic, Ph.D., Prof. Melita Kovacevic, Ph.D., Prof. Ljiljana Pinter, Ph.D.

The title of the project is: UNLOCKING THE CROATIAN TEXTILE RESEARCH POTENTIALS ( T-pot) in the amount of EUR 959.300,00 of the project manager Sandra Bischof Vukusic,Ph.D., Associate Professor and scientific advisor of the Faculty of Textile Technology. Theme of the project is "Protective Materials".

The basic objective of this project is strengthening the scientific potential of the Faculty of Textile Technology, first of all via TSRC (Textile Science Research Centre) in order to help the development of the Croatian textile economy.

Collaborative institutes of the project are: Sächsisches Textilforschnginstitut STFI - Germany, Institute of Natural Fibers ands Medical Plants INF - Poland, Centre of Technological Innovation Leitat - Spain and companies GZEm - Italy, with development of the future collaboration with the Swedish School of Textiles, University of Boras - Sweden and the company EMPA - Switzerland. Croatian Chamber of Economy and Croatian Employers' Association have supported this project.

Financial resources of the project will be used for the procurement of new scientific equipment: TGA (Thermogravimetric Analysis), DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry), FT-IR (Fourier Transform Infra Red Spectroscopy), SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy).

Within the scope of this project 3 junior researchers will be employed. Research scholarships with paid stays at the collaborative institutes from 1 to 6 months (a total of 24 months) and shorter stays up to 2 weeks (a total of 10 weeks) will be available. A foreign expert will stay at the Faculty of Textile Technology for a year. Many congratulations to Prof. Sandra Bischof Vukusic, Ph.D.
