The first day workshop theme was: Cellubast-Centre of excellence on natural lignocellulosic fibrous raw materials, and the subjects of the lectures which were held that day were the following:
- Biological progress in breeding fibre flax and growing technology in studies carried out at the Institute of Natural Fibres and Medicinal Plants
- Biology and behaviour of silkworms
- Analysis of natural fibers with SEM application
- Review of retting methods – Osmotic degumming
- Natural fibers reinforced polymer composites.
Lecturers – Krzysztof_Heller and Malgorzata_Lochynska
The second day of the workshop was dedicated to Multifunctional human friendly textile products of new generation. After the lectures, official visit of all the Institute departments was organized. Our hosts led us trough the biotechnology department, department for natural polymer composites, gene bank, laboratory of silkworm breeding and mulberry cultivation, department of bast fiber plants processing technology and department of textile raw materials and products metrology.

The third day workshop theme was: New methods for utilization of textile wastes and the lecture entitled Application of natural fibers wastes was held by Jerzy Mańkowski.
After finalization of the lectures the group of Croatian representatives has visited experimental plant Lenkon. The Farm is situated about 25 km away from Poznan on the road to Wroclaw. The basic objective of the farm is conducting scientific and implementation activities in terms of obtaining and manufacturing flax and hemp straw as well as carrying on experiments connected with different applications and utilization of fibrous raw materials.
