  • •  Perkin Elmer DSC 800 (Differential Scanning Calorimeter) measuring heat flow changes as a function of temperature.
  • •  Perkin Elmer Pyris 1 TGA (Thermogravimetric Analyzer) with FT-IR interface measuring weight loss percentage as a function of temperature or time simultaneously with FT-IR gass analysis if connected to the FT-IR spectrometer.
  • •  Perkin Elmer Spectrum 100 FT-IR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer) with KBr (Potassium Bromide) technique or ATR (Attenuated Total Reflectance) technique.
First training: Basic level

On the 5th of February 2010 a basic level of training on Perkin Elmer's DSC, TGA and FTIR devices was held at the Department of Textile Chemistry & Ecology of Faculty of Textile Technology as one of the project activities funded under the FP7-REGPOT-2008-1-229801 T-Pot project. Trainining was held by Mr. Piotr Witkowski from the Perkin Elmer Customer Service, Poland and Hrvoje Škoc from Hebe d.o.o., Perkin Elmer's official representative for Croatia. The aim of the training was a general introduction to the basic functions of the devices, basic parameters adjustments via Pyris software (pressure, gasses, temperature, flow rate, time etc.), sample preparation in general, maintenance and spare parts. The training was attended by the Department and project staff (Prof. Sandra Bischof-Vukušić, Prof. Andrea Katović, Prof. Drago Katović, PhD students: Sandra Flinčec-Grgac, Zorana Kovačević, Eva Magovac and Tihana Dekanić and technicians: Branka Brkić and Zlatko Jurković.

Second training: Advanced level

From 25th to 26th of February 2010 Mr. Stefano Pera from the Perkin Elmer Customer Service, Italy held an advanced level of training on DSC, TG and FTIR devices. The training was focused on advanced functions such as device calibration and parameters adjustments via Pyris software, as well as data analysis and interpretation of results measured on textile materials. The trainees were Prof. Sandra Bischof-Vukušić, Prof. Andrea Katović, Ana Sutlović, Sandra Flincec-Grgac, Zorana Kovačević, Eva Magovac, Tihana Dekanić, Branka Brkić from the Department as well as Hrvoje Škoc and Zoran Tomašković from Hebe d.o.o.
